We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Student Affairs to oversee and enhance our student discipline program, ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students. This role requires a proactive approach to behavior management, guiding students toward personal responsibility and positive decision-making while upholding school policies and expectations. The ideal candidate will implement consistent, fair, and restorative disciplinary practices, collaborate with faculty and families to support student growth, and contribute to a school culture that fosters accountability, respect, and academic success. Additionally, this individual will play a key role in shaping and maintaining a positive school climate while supporting the holistic development of our students. In doing so, they will ensure that discipline is not just about consequences but also about learning, growth, and long-term student success. The ideal candidate will also actively monitor and track students academic progress each trimester, ensuring that academic performance aligns with behavioral expectations and facilitating support where needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Principals, Deans, School Counselor, and other leaders to support student welfare and success.
  • Coordinates academic and social-emotional support for all students by working closely with members of the school leadership team.
  • Lead the school deans in managing student discipline and disciplinary records to support academic performance.
  • Review gradebooks and progress reports each trimester and collaborate with principals to facilitate support where needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with students, teachers, and parents to effectively communicate academic or behavioral performance and/or modification plans.
  • Provide support to teachers regarding student achievement, classroom management, and overall best practices.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to coordinate and supervise all outdoor learning experiences and student field trips.
  • Collaborate with teachers and program staff to ensure effective communication and engagement with parents and families regarding student success and support.
  • Manage all student-related inquiries and concerns, responding promptly and professionally to all communication from parents, students, and staff.
  • Escalate and resolve areas of concern as raised by parents and students.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field. A master's degree is preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in an educational environment, preferably within an administrative role
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience working with middle and/or high school students.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and collaboration, displaying a positive attitude, and demonstrating cultural proficiency
  • Experience in tutoring or case management is preferred.
  • Sound understanding of academic plans and approaches to learning.
  • Must be able to attend occasional meetings and events outside of regular school hours, including evenings and weekends.

General information:

  • Reports directly to the Head of School
  • The full-time equivalent salary range for this role is $95,000 - $105,000. This position is regular, 12 months, full-time, and exempt. Employees in exempt positions are expected to work as many hours as their responsibilities require, which includes evenings and weekends
